The proven construction of our medium-voltage cables, widely used within the IEC/EN framework for industrial and electromechanical applications, is now also UL certified, through UL Styles 3643 and 3991 in accordance with UL 758 (Appliance Wiring Material).
This significant milestone enables manufacturers of equipments destined to international markets to employ a constructive solution recognized in both European and North American markets.
A COMMON DESIGN APPROACH FOR GLOBAL MARKETS
Until now, the internal wiring of equipment intended for multiple markets frequently required the use of different solutions to meet IEC and UL requirements.
With UL recognition of Styles 3643 and 3991, manufacturers can now adopt a common design approach for medium-voltage applications, simplifying regulatory compliance management and reducing the need to develop dedicated solutions for different markets.
The added value lies in the fact that a well-known and established construction in the IEC/EN context can now be adopted, thanks to UL recognition, in equipment intended for the United States and Canada.

STYLE UL 3643
- Rated voltage: up to 13.8 kV
- UL operating temperature: 150°C
- Conductor: red copper or tinned copper
- ICC approved cross-sections: from 6 AWG to 500 kcmil
- Larger cross-sections available on request
STYLE UL 3991
- Rated voltage: up to 15 kV
- UL operating temperature: 150°C
- Conductor: tinned copper
- ICC approved cross-sections: from 16 mm² to 240 mm²
- Larger cross-sections available on request
SAFETY AND CONSTRUCTION DETAILS
The range retains the technical characteristics that have ensured its success in the most critical applications for many years.
Electrical stress control: A semi-conductive tape applied to the conductor helps to control the distribution of the electric field and to reduce localized concentrations of electrical stress, improving the system’s reliability in medium-voltage applications.
Varnished Polyester Braid (VPB): The high-coverage outer polyester braid is treated with a special resin-based varnish that provides excellent anti-friction properties and ensures high compatibility with the impregnation systems normally used in electrical windings.
Fire behavior: The silicone rubber insulation ensures halogen-free characteristics, low smoke emission and self-extinguishing properties in accordance with the main relevant standards.
In the event of a fire, the silicone material transforms into an insulating layer of silicon oxide, which helps to maintain the cable’s performance over an extended period.
