The energy transition is a global process, and ICC is also committed to this route. We have launched an ambitious investment plan oriented toward sustainability, with concrete actions to reduce environmental impact and improve energy efficiency within our plants. On this path, we have already implemented a number of concrete actions that are producing important results.
Thermal insulation of the roof and expansion of the photovoltaic system
A significant energy requalification project has been launched, involving the re-roofing of 15,000 square meters. The intervention concerns thermal insulation with the aim of reducing heat loss in winter and keeping rooms cool in summer, contributing to significant energy and economic savings.
In addition, we are expanding our photovoltaic system to a capacity of more than 2 MWp. The new installation will enable us to cover a large part of our energy needs, using renewable and clean energy, while also reducing fossil fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions.
LED lighting and low-emission boilers
We completed the installation of 375 latest-generation LED floodlights at the Bolgare production plants. This intervention has reduced CO₂ emissions, as well as improved visibility within the departments. In the same way, the replacement of traditional boilers with low-emission models has resulted in annual savings of 27.6 tons of CO₂, helping to make the plants more environmentally friendly and efficient.
Electric vehicles, electric forklifts and charging stations
Another important action was the replacement of diesel forklifts with high-performance electric models, improving air quality inside the plants and significantly reducing noise pollution. In addition, electric vehicles were introduced into the company car fleet and electric charging stations were installed.
Innovation in production facilities
New production lines were invested in and numerous machines were modernized through “revamping” projects. These improvements have made it possible to increase production performance, reduce energy consumption and cut CO₂ emissions: an increasingly sustainable and efficient production model.
Waste recovery and material optimization
With a view to recovering production waste and optimizing raw materials, various processes have been implemented that reduce waste and improve the overall efficiency of the production cycle. This circular economy model actively contributes to environmental sustainability by ensuring that a large proportion of materials are reused.
Our next steps
These actions have brought not only environmental benefits but also cost optimization, representing a win-win model that combines economic efficiency and sustainability. We will therefore continue to invest in new projects and solutions to further improve the sustainability and quality of the land around us.
