During the year 2020 ICC has enriched its range of certified products in accordance with the European Products Construction Regulation (CPR) by introducing the FTG18(O)M16 cable type.
Fire resistance is the main feature of this product.
These power, control and signaling cables are suitable for installation in plants requiring the highest fire safety requirements; they are therefore intended for installation in buildings and other civil engineering works in order to limit the spread and propagation of fires, fumes or toxic and corrosive gases.
In particular, the use of this product is suitable for applications such as alarm systems, emergency light systems, fire detectors, telephony, fire extinguishing devices and activation of automatic emergency doors in buildings with a high crowding density, like airports, railways, maritime stations, as well as inside tunnels and subways.
The high fire performance is supported in particular by the composition materials: the G18 rubber insulation with glass-mica tape and the M16 thermoplastic sheath guarantee compliance with the B2ca-S1a,d1,a1 classification of the European CPR Regulation.
These cables are suitable both for indoor use, even in humid environments, and for external installation in fixed laying on steel walls or structures, as well as in pipes or channels, or for direct burial. The norm CEI 20-67 defines the details related to instructions and warnings for use.
