ICC support E-Racing Bergamo for Formula SAE 2025

For the second consecutive year, ICC had the pleasure of supporting E-Racing Bergamo, the student association of the Università di Bergamo, which is committed to building an electric single-seater racing car for the prestigious Formula SAE international university championship.

A challenge of engineering and innovation

Formula SAE is an international university engineering design competition involving student teams from over 80 universities in 26 countries. The goal is to design, build, and test an electric race car, with technical and financial support from local companies.
It is a unique learning experience for young engineers, who are called upon to test not only their technical skills, but also their organizational, management, and problem-solving abilities in a highly competitive and international context.

The 2025 edition: technical developments and challenges overcome

During this edition, the E-Racing Bergamo team introduced important electrical and mechanical updates with the aim of improving the performance of the single-seater. The car, which weighs 248 kg, successfully passed all the safety and performance tests required by the regulations, including:

  • the braking test;
  • the rollover test;
  • the flooding test, during which the car was completely submerged for three minutes.

ICC’s contribution

Our Special Connections Business Unit supported the team during the design and development phases, providing technical expertise and solutions for the construction of the car’s electrical system.
In particular, we supplied electrical cables that helped to increase reliability and performance during the race.

International tour dates

E-Racing Bergamo participated in two important stages of the Formula SAE championship:

Saint Maurice de Rèmens – France

Varano de’ Melegari – Italy

These were two significant events, which represented valuable opportunities for the team to compete and grow.

A successful joint project

For ICC, this collaboration is yet another concrete example of how synergy between businesses and academia can generate innovative and successful projects.

Congratulations to the entire E-Racing Bergamo team for the commitment, passion, and dedication with which they have transformed their project into a winning reality.
