For the second consecutive year, ICC <\/strong>had the pleasure of supporting E-Racing Bergamo<\/a><\/strong>, the student association of the Universit\u00e0 di Bergamo<\/a><\/strong>, which is committed to building an electric single-seater racing car<\/strong> for the prestigious Formula SAE<\/strong> international university championship.<\/p>

A challenge of engineering and innovation<\/strong><\/h2>

Formula SAE is an international university engineering design competition involving student teams from over 80 universities in 26 countries<\/strong>. The goal is to design, build, and test an electric race car, with technical and financial support from local companies.
It is a unique learning experience for young engineers, who are called upon to test not only their technical skills, but also their organizational, management, and problem-solving abilities in a highly competitive and international context.<\/p>

The 2025 edition: technical developments and challenges overcome<\/strong><\/h2>

During this edition, the E-Racing Bergamo<\/strong> team introduced important electrical and mechanical updates with the aim of improving the performance of the single-seater. The car, which weighs 248 kg<\/strong>, successfully passed all the safety and performance tests required by the regulations, including:<\/p>

  • the braking test<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n
  • the rollover test<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n
  • the flooding test<\/strong>, during which the car was completely submerged for three minutes.<\/li><\/ul>

    ICC’s contribution<\/strong><\/h2>

    Our Special Connections Business Unit <\/strong>supported the team during the design and development phases, providing technical expertise and solutions for the construction of the car’s electrical system<\/strong>.
    In particular, we supplied electrical cables<\/strong> that helped to increase reliability and performance during the race.<\/p>

    International tour dates<\/strong><\/h2>

    E-Racing Bergamo participated in two important stages of the Formula SAE championship:<\/p>

    \u2022 Saint Maurice de R\u00e8mens<\/strong> \u2013 France<\/p>

    \u2022 Varano de\u2019 Melegari<\/strong> \u2013 Italy<\/p>

    These were two significant events, which represented valuable opportunities for the team to compete and grow.<\/p>

    A successful joint project<\/strong><\/h2>

    For ICC, this collaboration is yet another concrete example of how synergy between businesses and academia<\/strong> can generate innovative and successful projects<\/strong>.<\/p>
